DESCRIPTION

This act raises the non-advertising limit of counties to equal the minimum bid limit for contracts and purchases. Current law does not require counties to receive bids on purchases under $4,500. The current advertising limit is set at $3,000 - thus requiring advertising for bids on projects that the county did not need to submit to a bidding process. This act corrects an inadvertent drafting error in 1998.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
