COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 15 to 0.

This bill allows optometrists to report to the Department of
Revenue any patient diagnosed as having a disorder or condition
that may impair or prevent a person from safely operating a
motor vehicle.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that such legislation clearly
affords optometrists the same right other medical professionals
have in regard to medical statements about a person's ability to
safely operate a motor vehicle.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Lakin; and Missouri
Optometric Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
