HB 275 -- PUBLIC ADMINISTRATORS CO-SPONSORS: May (108), O'Toole COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Municipal Corporations by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill authorizes the governing body of St. Louis to provide clerical staff for its public administrator. The bill has an emergency clause. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the increased work load of dispensing of probate cases and the lack of authority to hire clerical staff causes an increased burden on the Office of the Public Administrator. Testifying for the bill were Representative O'Toole; and Office of the Public Administrator, City of St. Louis. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
