HB 290-- COMBAT INFANTRYMAN LICENSE PLATE SPONSOR: Champion COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Federal-State Relations and Veterans Affairs by a vote of 13 to 0. This bill clarifies that the special COMBAT INFANTRYMAN license plate may be issued to nonlocal property-carrying commercial motor vehicles not in excess of 12,000 pounds. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill makes a technical change in law allowing owners of small trucks to obtain Combat Infantryman license plates.
