HB 315 -- PHYSICALLY DISABLED LICENSE PLATES AND PLACARDS (Hosmer) For the purpose of obtaining a disabled license plates, this bill permits optometrists to certify that a person is disabled. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 315 -- PHYSICALLY DISABLED LICENSE PLATES AND PLACARDS SPONSOR: Hosmer COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 15 to 0. For the purpose of obtaining a disabled license plates, this bill permits optometrists to certify that a person is disabled. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that people with eye disabilities should be afforded the same advantage in obtaining a plate or placard as people with other disabilities. Testifying for the bill were Representative Hosmer; Catherine Gale Rothman; Vineta H. O'Shea; Missouri Ophthalmology; and Missouri Optometric Association.
