HB 452 -- DRIVER'S LICENSES (Boatright) Under current law, any person who fails to dispose of a moving traffic violation of any municipality with a population of at least 1,000 is subject to loss of driver's license. This bill repeals the population qualification. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 452 -- DRIVER'S LICENSES SPONSOR: Boatright COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 11 to 0. Under current law, any person who fails to dispose of a moving traffic violation of any municipality with a population of at least 1,000 is subject to loss of driver's license. This bill repeals the population qualification. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that small towns and communities have no means to make a person to appear and pay fines. This is a necessary tool for small towns.
