FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 472 -- ADOPTION INVESTIGATIONS SPONSOR: Nordwald COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Children, Youth and Families by a vote of 14 to 0. This bill excludes a criminal background check from those investigations that may be waived in an adoption proceeding where the adoptee is the natural child of one of the petitioners and all required parties consent to the adoption. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill is necessary to protect children even when the biological parents consent to the adoption.
