HB 476 -- FOURTH CLASS CITIES SPONSOR: Hegeman COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 17 to 0. This bill requires persons running for alderman in fourth class cities to be residents of the ward they reside in at the time of filing for election and during the time they serve as alderman. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill only clarifies the statute. Testifying for the bill were Representative Hegeman; and Missouri Municipal League.
