This bill allows the trainer of a service dog for the physically
disabled to take a dog in training on all modes of
transportation and on any public premises without charge for the
dog.  The trainer will be liable for any damage to the premises
by the dog.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 18 to 0.

This bill allows the trainer of a service dog for the physically
disabled to take a dog in training on all modes of
transportation and on any public premises without charge for the
dog.  The trainer will be liable for any damage to the premises
by the dog.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this bill allows service dogs
to be trained in real life situations.  People are dependent on
these dogs and the must be trained in the public situations they
will encounter.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Long; Barbara
Jenson; and Service Dogs for the Disabled.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
