COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Civil and Administrative Law by a vote of 17 to 0.
This bill exempts Roth IRAs from attachment and execution except
for the payment of child support and maintenance.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this is "clean-up" legislation
to provide Roth IRAs the same exemptions from garnishment,
attachment, and execution that regular IRAs have.
Testifying for the bill was Representative Monaco.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
