COMMITTEE

HB 988 -- DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES REVOLVING SERVICES FUND

SPONSOR: Backer

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Fiscal Review by a vote of 9 to 0.

Current law exempts unencumbered balances of up to $100,000 in
the Department of Natural Resources Revolving Services Fund from
being transferred to the General Revenue Fund biennially. This
bill increases the maximum exemption to $1,000,000.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that monies in this fund are used to
purchase items which the Department of Natural Resources resells
to individuals, such as maps and plats. Such items for resale
must be paid for in a timely manner by the department, thereby
necessitating a larger balance in the revolving fund.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Backer.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
