ASSUMPTION



Officials from the Office of Attorney General and the Office of Secretary of State assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.



Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator assume the proposed legislation would cause a slight increase in the number of persons available for jury service. However, there would be no increased cost to the judiciary.

DESCRIPTION



The proposed legislation would lower the age of jury service from twenty-one to eighteen years of age and would excuse certain students from service.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
