FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials of the Department of Natural Resources assume this proposal would have no fiscal impact on their department.

Oversight assumes this proposal is enabling legislation and would have no fiscal impact unless the governing body of a city, town, or village would receive approval of a majority of the voters, to levy a fee that could not exceed $28 annually on owners of condominiums. The money generated by the fee could only be used for the repair of sewer lines of those dwelling units

Oversight will show fiscal impact as $0.

FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 2004 FY 2005 FY 2006
$0 $0 $0

FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 2004 FY 2005 FY 2006
$0 $0 $0

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This act provides that a municipality may impose a fee of up to $28 per year on a condominium that utilizes and is responsible for its own sewer line. Currently, municipalities are authorized to impose such a fee on residential property having six or less dwelling units.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
