Senator Curtis Trent
Senator Curtis Trent, a Republican, took the oath of office on Jan. 4, 2023, to serve the residents of the 20th Senatorial District, which consists of Barton, Dade, Greene and Webster counties. He previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives for six years.
Senator Trent is an attorney who practiced in administrative law concerning Social Security disability. He also served as deputy chief of staff to the congressman from Missouri’s 7th District.
Senator Trent grew up on a small farm in southwest Missouri before attending Missouri State University in Springfield where he graduated summa cum laude with a major in political science and a minor in history. He furthered his education at the Saint Louis University School of Law and was admitted to the Missouri State Bar after obtaining a law degree.
Senator Trent is an active member of the Church of Christ and has served the Lord as a song leader, prayer leader and teacher. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, along with many other clubs and community groups.
