ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Revenue (DOR) and the Department of Transportation (MoDOT) do not expect to be fiscally impacted.
Based on a response from a similar proposal, the Office of State Courts Administrator (CTS) would not expect a significant increase in the workload of the judiciary. Therefore, Oversight assumes that the fiscal impact would be zero.
FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 2001 FY 2002 FY 2003
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 2001 FY 2002 FY 2003
(10 Mo.)

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
The proposal would prohibit the driver of a motor vehicle from the operation of a sound amplification system which can be heard from a distance of 100 or more feet. Exemptions are made for law enforcement vehicles, emergency vehicles, utilities, parades and special events. Failure to comply with provisions of this act is an infraction.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
