DESCRIPTION
This act changes the administrative hearing process within the Kansas City Police Department. The bill would allow a hearing officer to gather evidence in a hearing, instead of the current process where the police boards holds a hearing. The hearing officer must submit a report to the police board within 30 days of the hearing. The act also allows appeals from decisions of the board.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
