ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator, Sheriff Retirement System, Office of the State Treasurer, Office of Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Health, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Insurance, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Office of the State Auditor, Department of Agriculture, Department of Mental Health, Department of Conservation, and State Tax Commission assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.
In a response to similar proposed legislation, officials from the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Revenue, State Public Defender, Office of Prosecution Services, Department of Social Services, Office of Administration - Budget and Planning, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Safety, Office of the Secretary of State, Department of Economic Development, and Gaming Commission assumed the proposal would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.

DESCRIPTION
The proposed legislation recodifies various sections governing court costs, fees, charges, and surcharges into one section of the revised statutes. This revision was mandated by Senate Bill 869 of the Second Regular Session of the 88th General Assembly, 1996.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
