ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator stated the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on the Courts.
Officials from the Department of Social Services stated the DOS currently has a subsidized guardianship program for children who have been in their custody with a population of qualified relatives. This population of children would be transitioning from foster care to legal guardianship. Therefore, the proposed legislation would have a $0 impact on the DOS.

The proposed legislation adds first cousins to the list of relatives eligible to receive adoption subsidies.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
