JEFFERSON CITY - State Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, is pleased to announce a grant issued by the Department of Economic Development in the amount of $1 million to expand the Brewer Science manufacturing facility at the Rolla National Airport. The new facility would produce microdevices for use in tablets, cameras, smartphones and other electronic devices.
“This is leading-edge technology that will propel the area towards future job growth and economic development,” said Sen. Brown. “This investment will create high-tech jobs for hard-working citizens and help boost the local economy.”
With this grant, the Rolla National Airport is set to become an economic and transportation hub. Along with the Brewer Science expansion, the airport is expected to develop into a manufacturing center for other forward-thinking manufacturers. The grant will also support upgrades to water, sewer and road construction as the area evolves into a manufacturing center.
Brewer Science is already a global technology leader in the supply of its products, and supports its worldwide customers through a distribution network in North America, Asia and Europe.
“I’m very proud to see our area develop through the production of 21st-century technology, and I look forward to seeing this project get under way,” said Sen. Brown. “The economic future looks bright for our district, and our citizens.” |
