JEFFERSON CITY — On Nov. 15, 2013, Sen. Dan Brown received the President’s Citation Award from the University of Missouri’s Alumni Alliance Association.
Each year, the award is presented to individuals who demonstrate outstanding support to the university and its regional campuses. The university’s president selects recipients on the advice of the Alliance from each campus.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Sen. Brown supports higher education through his participation in the Senate Appropriations and Senate Education committees. He supports the university’s position on higher education funding formula legislation and is a longstanding ally for the University of Missouri.
“Education has been, and always will be, one of my highest priorities as a legislator,” Sen. Brown said. “The future of our state and our nation is in the hands of the educational system.”
The University of Missouri is the state’s only public research and doctoral-level institution, and supports advances in health, technology, cultural and social interests of the students and citizens of Missouri.
