JEFFERSON CITY — Next week (7-18), Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, and various members of local organizations will meet to honor former State Sen. Norma Champion and the passage of Senate Bill 20, 15 & 19, which renews a children’s tax credit originally established by the former senator.
This measure, one of the first from the 2013 legislative session to be signed by the governor, also renames the Children in Crisis Tax Credit to the Champion for Children Tax Credit to acknowledge her previous work on the legislation and her legacy as an advocate for children’s issues.
Many local and regional elected officials will gather in the Heritage Room of Riggs Hall on the Evangel University campus. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
