JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, has been named to serve on several committees in the Missouri Senate. Committee assignments were handed down today (1-10).

Senator Munzlinger will continue his role as chair of the Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee, as he has for the past two years. In addition, he will sit on the Gubernatorial Appointments Committee; the Small Business, Insurance and Industry Committee; and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“In committees, we hear testimony about proposed legislation from constituents across the state who would be most affected by its passage,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “I will work hard as chairman of Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources to make sure Missouri’s No. 1 industry is protected and that the committee tries to address the needs and concerns many Missouri farm families are feeling due to the prolonged sluggish economy coupled with the terrible weather extremes that have tested them for far too long.”

The first committee hearings are schedule for the week of Jan. 14, 2013. The First Regular Session of the 97th General Assembly began on Jan. 9, 2013.
