JEFFERSON CITY — As your senator, my office strives to provide as much information as possible to interested constituents.
My Senate website, www.senate.mo.gov/pearce, is structured to be user-friendly. On the left-hand side of the page, there are buttons that will allow you to view a short video welcoming you to the website and to sign up to receive my weekly legislative column directly to your e-mail.
The body of the page contains a window with a scrolling site summary, an RSS feed, allowing visitors to subscribe to a news feed and view a quick rundown of recent headlines. Below that is a list of the committees on which I serve. A link to view a legislative map of the 21st Senatorial District is right below the list of counties that make up my Senate district.
To track current legislation, links under the Legislation tab will give you the option to view current legislation, co-sponsored legislation, and bills I have sponsored or handled during my previous years in the Senate. The Biography tab gives you more information on my background.
The Constituent Services tab offers a variety of information. Here, visitors can request a courtesy resolution relating to numerous topics. College students interested in learning more about working in the seat of Missouri’s government can apply to be an intern in the 21st District office. There is also a link that will direct interested people to the Missouri State Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Database to search for any potentially forgotten assets.
The Media tab allows you to remain informed on the activities of the 21st District office. My weekly column, the Capitol Report, both current and archived, is available by clicking on the Columns link in the Media drop down list. The Multimedia section includes weekly audio information on a wide range of topics, as well as select audio samples from various committee hearings. Information released to local media outlets on recent events can be found under the News Releases link. Finally, Publications will take people to past Legislative Reports and Session Accomplishment brochures, items that are often mailed throughout the district or are provided as handouts at public events.
The Missouri Senate home page is also a great resource. By visiting www.senate.mo.gov, visitors are able to find out what bills are coming up for debate on the floor, listen to action on floor as it happens, and check on hearing schedules for bills assigned to committees. There are also links to lists of current legislation, the Senate Newsroom, and other items of legislative interest.
These websites are available to help people find answers to their questions in a quick, reliable way. Should you have questions about navigating my Web page or the Senate’s site, please don’t hesitate to let our office know and we will do our best to help you.
