State Sen. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, Sen. John Lamping, R-Ladue, and Rep. Kurt Bahr, R-St. Charles, will hold a joint press conference, tomorrow, May 16, to discuss the status of House Bill 1490, legislation that was truly agreed to and finally passed today (May 15).
The legislation contains language that states Missouri educators will bear down over the next year and write new standards, which, after a public vetting and state school board approval, would go into effect in the fall of 2016.
“Our students deserve the best that we can give them,” Sen. Emery said. “We must remember that there is always a chance for improvement when it comes to the methods and guidelines we use to educate our children.”
