As we approach the end of session, I am excited to begin preparing for the annual Northeast Missouri “Local Government Day” on June 24, 2014. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to speak with different officials throughout the district. It is essential for me, as your senator, to hear concerns and ideas from individuals who work very hard to keep our cities and counties functioning smoothly and efficiently.
I represent 14 counties and want to meet with as many people as I can. I find that the best way to do this is by inviting all of the hard-working officials of the 18th Senatorial District to one place: Jefferson City. While at the State Capitol, we will discuss important topics such as the budget, transportation, waste water regulations, workforce investment, purchasing and transparency.
I would like to extend a personal invitation to all of the city officials, including mayors, city council members, city managers, county commissioners and city/county clerks. This is an opportune time to meet with multiple departments and discuss issues that are relevant to your counties and cities.
I look forward to meeting all of you and discussing pertinent and important issues. The last three “Local Government Days” have been very successful and informative. I hope to see some familiar faces along with some new ones. As always, lunch will be provided. The agenda is still tentative and will be provided at a later date. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call my office. |
