JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. David Sater, R-Cassville, issued the following statement regarding the admittance of Syrian refugees in Missouri following last week’s terrorists attacks in Paris.

“In a world where radical Islamic terrorists are killing indiscriminately and openly threatening a U.S. city, the safety and security of our country and Missourians should be the primary concern. Admitting more refugees without a tough and thorough vetting process is a threat to our state and country. I call on our governor to show leadership, protect the security interests of our state and immediately suspend the admittance and/or resettlement of Syrian refugees in Missouri.”

Senator Sater also joined 19 of his colleagues in the Missouri Senate in a statement this week urging the governor to suspend the acceptance of Syrian refugees relocating to Missouri.
