Senator Wieland Begins First Term Serving Missouri's 22nd Senatorial District

JEFFERSON CITY — Newly elected Senator Paul Wieland, R-Imperial, was sworn in as a state senator at the Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Joining the senator at the swearing in ceremony were his wife, Terri, and their three daughters: Coleen, Cathy and Nikki. The day’s events concluded with the Grand March and Legislative Ball in the Capitol Rotunda. Wednesday marked the beginning of the First Regular Session of the 98th Missouri General Assembly.

“It’s truly an honor to represent the great people of Missouri’s 22nd District. This is a very proud day for my family and me,” said Sen. Wieland. “I’m ready to get down to business, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues in the years to come.”

For his first legislative session, the senator’s priorities include economic growth and development for the district and further development of Jefferson County ports.

Senator Wieland previously served three terms in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to the Missouri Senate in November, 2014. The senator is a life-long resident of Jefferson County and resides in Imperial with his family.
