Family

On January 3, 1945, Dan Clemens was born on his family farm in Webster County where he still resides. Dan has one daughter, Kim, who resides in Springfield.

Educational Background

Dan was educated in the Marshfield school system where he was active in FFA. He has a master’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia and was elected to serve in the MU Senate.

Business Experience

Dan owns and operates a third-generation family 400-acre farm where he raises row crops. He previously ran a large dairy operation on the farm.

Community Service

Dan has been very active in community events. He has served as President of the Marshfield School Board, Soil and Water Commission, and the Governor’s Agriculture Advisory Committee. He served the James River Partnership as a farmer representative. He previously served as a state corporate board member for MFA, Inc., and the Webster Electric Co-op Foundation Board. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshfield and an avid sportsman and hunter.

Legislative Service

Dan was elected to the Missouri Senate in 2002, and then re-elected in 2006. He currently serves as chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee, where he works to pass legislation that protects Missouri’s largest industry: agriculture. Dan also serves on the General Laws Committee; Gubernatorial Appointments Committee; Transportation Committee; and Small Business, Insurance and Industry Committee.
