Current Bill Summary

SB 532 - This act modifies provisions relating to the filing of candidacy for school board elections. Under current law, candidates for school board positions shall file their declarations of candidacy with the secretary of the school board. Under this act, the election authority for the county in which the school district is located and in which a school board candidate resides shall be the election authority that accepts a candidacy filing. Such election authority shall designate the county clerk's office as the only filing location for such candidates. This act is identical to HB 825 (2023).
