Senator Doug Beck Ushers “Show-MO Act” to Governor’s Desk

Jefferson City — State Sen. Doug Beck, D-Affton, announced his legislation to establish the “Show-MO Act” and the “Entertainment Industry Jobs Act” was passed by the Missouri Legislature on May 4 and now awaits the governor’s signature to become law. The combined Senate Bill 94 reauthorizes a tax credit for expenses involved with production of motion picture production projects and creates a tax credit for rehearsal and tour expenses for live entertainment tours in Missouri.

“Missouri’s location, workforce, diversity and beautiful topography make it ideal for motion movie production,” said Sen. Beck. ”These tax credits will attract entertainment production, spur economic growth and create jobs, making our state more vibrant and successful for years to come.”

Senate Bill 94 reauthorizes a tax credit law that expired in 2013. If signed into law, the Show-MO Act will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, and sunset on Dec. 31, 2030, unless reauthorized by the General Assembly.
