Senator Jason Bean and Representative Donnie Brown to Share Details on Worker Resources
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Jason Bean, R-Holcomb, and State Rep. Donnie Brown, R-New Madrid, today announced meetings where resources and additional information will be shared with workers and the New Madrid community affected by Magnitude 7 Metal’s announcement of the imminent curtailing of operations of their plant.
The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development’s Rapid Response Employee Transition Team will be hosting two sessions for employees of Magnitude 7 Metals and share important information. Details below:
Worker Meetings Date: Tuesday, January 30, 2024
Location: Rone Hall 102 County Road 308 Portageville, Missouri 63873
Times: 9-11 am and 2-4 pm
The Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development will provide information on retraining services and employee benefits, like retirement and health benefits, as well as mental health resources for impacted employees and families. There are also plans to host local hiring events in the coming weeks to assist affected employees who need help finding new employment. Senator Bean and Rep. Brown will send out additional information about upcoming events once details are available.
