Taking a Stand with Israel
Hello! I hope you have had a good week and taken the chance to enjoy the warmer weather. The Senate had multiple Joint Sessions with the House of Representatives to meet with guests who came to address the General Assembly. I was happy to welcome the Israeli General Consul who gave an impassioned speech about the struggle in his land. I stand with Israel and all they are doing to stand against Hamas and return stability to their country. I also appreciate the many resolutions the Senate has put forward honoring Israel and their right to exist. The General Assembly also heard from the Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court during the State of the Judiciary address. I appreciate all the hard work of the judges and courts in our district who help keep our communities safe. The Senate did discuss Senate Bill 1168 on the floor this past week. This bill attempts to defund Planned Parenthood by prohibiting all state funds from going to any organization that performs abortions, or is associated with performing abortions. I believe this will protect life and protect our tax dollars from being used to help abortions be performed across state lines. Discussions will continue so that we can perfect, pass and send the bill over to the House. I will keep you updated as the Senate moves forward. As always, I am happy to have you swing by my offices, and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Senator Travis Fitzwater serves residents of Callaway, Lincoln, Montgomery, Pike and a portion of St. Charles counties in the Missouri Senate. For more information about Sen.
