Fighting for our Communities
Hello all from your favorite senator Angela Walton Mosley! The weather has been crazy this past week, it felt like spring and now it is back to winter. In the capitol, I’ve worked hard to make sure your priorities are making their way through the Senate.
The Committee on Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety heard my Senate Bill 1155. This act creates the Christian Taylor Ferguson (CTF) Medical Alert System. It would operate just like the Amber Alert System but the CTF Medical Alert System would notify the public of missing people who are in additional danger because of a medical condition. This bill would help keep our loved ones safe and use the strength of our community to protect the most vulnerable.
Another bill I am sponsoring, Senate Bill 890, was heard in the Progress and Development Committee, which I sit on. This bill creates the “Missing and Murdered African American Women Task Force.” This unit’s priority would be to address the violence against African American women and girls. They would file reports with the governor and the General Assembly every year on the progress made to protect women and girls in our communities. This bill will help ensure the health and well-being of those who make up the heart of our society.
I’ve also attended the various committees I sit on, namely the Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and the Environment; the Governmental Accountability Committee; and the Insurance and Banking Committee.
Feel free to contact my offices with any questions or concerns. My staff and I commit to responding to every inquiry within 48 hours. You are my #1 priority.

I was proud to have the mother of Christian Ferguson,
Theda Wilson, St. Louis, by my side to support SB 1155.
