Progress Continues at Session Midpoint

While there is still one week to go until the Senate’s legislative spring break, we are technically at the midway point of the 2024 session. This week, the Senate passed its first big batch of bills and sent them over to the Missouri House of Representatives for their consideration. There are still many large, complicated pieces of legislation we have to debate, but it is good to see bills moving forward.

Several of my own legislative priorities are closer to that same step and should soon be heard on the Senate floor. Senate Bill 751, aimed at improving insurance coverage of pharmacy services, and Senate Bill 753, my bill to create the “Commercial Financing Disclosure Law,” were passed out of the Senate Insurance and Banking Committee. Also passed out of committee and now up for discussion by the entire Senate was Senate Bill 752, which preserves economic opportunities in Missouri’s rural regions.

These proposals are simple changes that could make a big difference for the people of our state. I am hopeful they will continue to move quickly and can be sent to the House with plenty of time to be passed and sent to the governor before the end of session. I will continue to keep you updated on the legislation and proposals that are important to you. Don’t hesitate to reach out to my office if you have any questions or thoughts on the bills in front of the Senate this year.

It’s my honor to serve as your senator for the 16th District. If you have questions or need any assistance, please call my office at 573-751-5713 or log onto my webpage at senate.mo.gov/brown for more information.
