Senator Lincoln Hough Looks Forward as Senate Prepares to Finalize 2025 Budget
Jefferson City — Following the passage of the state operating budget by the Missouri House of Representatives, State Sen. Lincoln Hough, R-Springfield, expressed cautious optimism in anticipation of the Senate’s upcoming deliberations. “As the budget comes over to the Senate, I’m eager to build upon the groundwork of the governor and the House,” Sen. Hough said. “Our budget decisions have to reflect our commitment to building a strong foundation for the future of Missouri. This commitment must include strategic investments in our schools, our roads and our workforce. I look forward to presenting a budget that ensures taxpayer dollars are utilized efficiently.” The 18 bills that make up the Fiscal Year 2025 state operating budget will now go through the legislative process in the Senate for further review and deliberation. The constitutional deadline for having the budget passed and delivered to the governor is May 10. To learn more about Sen. Hough and his legislation, please visit senate.mo.gov/Hough.
