Protecting Life

I hope you all had the chance to see the eclipse this past week. What an extraordinary event that Missouri has been blessed with, not just once but twice in the last seven years.

The main discussion in the Senate this week revolved around House Bill 2634. This bill would prevent government funding from going to any entity in the state affiliated with providing abortions. While currently there is no money in the state going to abortions, it is important to ensure that in the future, whatever may come, taxpayer dollars are not used on a procedure that is currently illegal in this state. This bill also aims to make sure funds allocated to Missourians’ health care are not being funneled to provide abortions in other states. I believe passing this bill paves the way for passing the federal reimbursement act (FRA) which will supply our medical organizations with $4.5 billion and is crucial for keeping our rural hospitals and ambulances up and running.

If you find yourself in the capital please come drop by my office. I’m always happy to meet with those I serve, and if you have any questions or would like to be a witness for a bill I would be glad to help.
