Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of April 15, 2024

A legislative priority of mine is one signature away from becoming reality. Today, we sent House Bill 1803 to the governor for consideration. This legislation increases the cap on MO Bucks, the state’s linked deposit program. MO Bucks allows financial institutions to provide lower rate loans that would not otherwise be available to small businesses and agriculture producers.
The Missouri Senate also passed House Bill 2016. This legislation allocates funds to support the deployment of Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and Missouri National Guard members to Texas where they have been helping to secure our southern border in Operation Lone Star.
Not only has Operation Lone Star slowed the mass influx of illegal immigrants into our country, but it has also led to the apprehension and confiscation of nearly 467 lethal doses of narcotics, including fentanyl. I believe the success of this ongoing mission is crucial in safeguarding our communities here in Missouri and preventing further devastation wrought by the opioid crisis. Now that the House and Senate have both passed this supplemental appropriations bill, it heads to the governor’s desk for final signature.
