Senator Caleb Rowden Announces
 New Health Care Panel

JEFFERSON CITY – State Sen. Caleb Rowden, R-Columbia, has announced the formation of the Interim Committee on Health Care Transparency in response to the continued rise in health care costs impacting millions of everyday Missourians.

“Our constituents look to us, their state legislators, to increase transparency in health care and lower costs to put more money back in their pockets,” Sen. Rowden said. “Every day, Missourians suffer while large, for-profit corporations battle to increase their bottom lines. When out-of-control federal programs offer little to no transparency, it deserves our attention. Missourians deserve it, and we will deliver.”

This committee will be chaired by Sen. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo, and will conduct an in-depth conversation covering a wide array of health care issues related to Missouri hospitals, pharmacies, insurers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and other health care providers.

“We have not done enough to ensure Missourians’ voices are heard regarding their health care costs,” Sen. Rowden said. “I believe the federal government is crippled by inaction and political bickering. As I leave office, I hope this committee will initiate a larger conversation that leads to success where other states have failed.”
