Senator Karla May Celebrates Bill Signings by the Governor

JEFFERSON CITY — Senator Karla May, D-St. Louis, is proud to celebrate the signing of Senate Bills 754756, and 872 Tuesday (7/9) by Missouri’s governor. Through her diligent work, Sen. May was able to amend these three bills to include her own legislation and improve existing language.

Senate Bill 754 includes Senator May’s Senate Bill 760, which adds firefighters, 911 dispatchers, paramedics and emergency medical technicians as eligible recipients under the Critical Stress Incident Management Program. This program was established in 2021 after being proposed by Sen. May.

Senate Bill 756 modifies a real property tax credit which was passed by the General Assembly in 2023. Senator May amended this bill during debate on the floor to remove language that would have prevented some seniors from receiving the property tax credit.

Senate Bill 872 contains Sen. May’s Senate Bill 1411, which extended the sunset of the “Uniform Small Wireless Facility Deployment Act” from Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2029. This extension will ensure stability between broadband providers and cities so that Missourians access may continue to be strengthened and expanded.
