Week of Sept. 16, 2024
Veto Session
Greetings! I am happy to write to you once more and tell you about some of the work happening in the General Assembly at this time of year.
The General Assembly came together once again for the Veto Session. This session is an opportunity for the General Assembly to overturn any vetoes made by the governor. I am happy to report the General Assembly felt no vetoes were worth overturning, as the governor limited his vetoes to line items in the budget.
This was also a time for senior senators on their way out, like myself, to say goodbye to colleagues and staff who have worked with us throughout our time at the Senate. Though even as my time as your senator draws to an end, I am determined to do all I can until my time as your senator is up at the end of the year.
Until then, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions and concerns you might have and I will do what I can to help your voice be heard. Have a wonderful week.
As always, I appreciate hearing your comments, opinions and concerns. Please feel free to contact me in Jefferson City at 573-751-4302. You may also email me at denny.hoskins@senate.mo.gov.
I was proud to meet with former Sen. David Pearce during my time back at the Capitol.
It was a great experience to stand with my wife, Michelle, and my mother, Donna, in the Senate Chamber.
I was honored to meet with this CLIMB class who visited the Capitol.
