Senator Barbara Anne Washington’s Legislative Column for Oct. 11, 2024
Time to Shine
I have lived in this amazing city for a couple of decades now, but I cannot think of a time when I have been more proud to call this magical place home. The Royals are handling the Yankees, hoping to extend their season through October. The Chiefs are undefeated for the first time since 2018, earning the franchise’s fifth 5 and 0 season start. The Current will finish their forth season at home next week, and fall festivities are underway all across the region. It’s definitely Kansas City’s time to shine!
Voters will also have their time to shine, starting with no excuse, in person absentee voting on Oct. 23, and leading up to the General Election on Nov. 5. Please share this information with those who need it and show up to vote!
