Happy Holidays

As the holidays approach and we prepare for the new year, I want to share a preview of what’s ahead in the Missouri Senate for the 2025 legislative session. It’s a tremendous honor to serve as your voice in Jefferson City, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to take on a new leadership role this year as the majority floor leader.

This role comes with important responsibilities: I’ll be setting the legislative calendar, managing floor debates and ensuring that the bills prioritized by the caucus reflect our shared values and vision for Missouri. It’s a challenge I’m excited to embrace, and I’m committed to working hard to deliver results for you and all Missourians.

Public safety will be a top priority for me and my colleagues in the Senate. Whether it’s violent crime in our cities or ensuring rural law enforcement has the resources they need, every Missourian deserves to feel safe in their community. Over the past several sessions, we have made strides in supporting law enforcement, and this year, we’ll continue those efforts by passing policies that hold offenders accountable and keep dangerous criminals off the streets.

We also know that tax reform remains essential to keeping Missouri competitive and helping families and businesses thrive. This session, we’ll be looking for ways to let you keep more of what you earn. Whether that means simplifying the tax code, reducing burdens on small businesses or ensuring our tax policies attract new industries, the goal is to put more money back in your pocket and keep our economy growing.

Just as important as the policies we’ll pass is the way we’ll approach them. Over the past few years, we’ve seen some divisions within the majority caucus that have slowed progress on key issues. I believe it’s time to turn the page. As majority floor leader, one of my biggest goals is to foster a culture of collaboration and unity among my colleagues. We all share a commitment to conservative principles, and by working together, we can accomplish great things for Missouri.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how excited I am to work alongside the governor-elect and his administration. Having served with him in the Senate, I’ve seen firsthand his dedication to our state and his ability to lead. He has a bold vision for Missouri, and I know we can accomplish a lot together in the months and years ahead.

As we move into this new session, I want to thank you for your continued trust and support. My job as your senator is to listen to your concerns, stand up for your values and work toward policies that will make Missouri a better place to live, work and raise a family. Your input shapes my priorities, and I welcome your thoughts as we head into 2025.

It is my great honor to represent the citizens of Platte and Buchanan counties in the Missouri Senate. Please contact my office at 573-751-2183, or visit senate.mo.gov/Luetkemeyer.
