A Holiday of Joy
A Joyful Holiday Celebration in the 13th District from your favorite Senator Angela Mosley!
This holiday season, the 13th District came together for the Christmas Wonderland Toy Giveaway, a truly magical event hosted by myself, my daughter - State Representative-Elect Chanel Mosley, and Precious Jones of Breaking Generational Poverty (BGP).
The Christmas Wonderland Toy Giveaway, in partnership with the BGP, was an unforgettable celebration of community, generosity and holiday cheer. Families from across the district gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere, and it was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up with joy as they received toys and shared in the holiday spirit. My daughter and I had the pleasure to meet with each of the families in attendance and ensure they enjoyed the event.
One of the highlights of the day was my chance to embrace the role of Mrs. Claus, creating heartwarming moments with the children that I will cherish for years to come. My husband, Representative Jay Mosley, took on the role of Santa Claus and ensured every child felt special. I hope everyone who came felt the true meaning of the season as they were greeted with smiles and kindness throughout the event.
This celebration was about more than gifts though—it was about fostering unity and strengthening community bonds. The laughter, excitement and outpouring of support demonstrated the incredible spirit of the 13th District that I am so proud to represent. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, contributed and helped make this event possible. Together we are building brighter futures for our children while creating a stronger, more connected community.
We are also just weeks away from the beginning of session, and these five bills are my top legislative priorities this session:
- Senate Bill 40 – Creates the Missing and Murdered African American Women and Girls Task Force to help investigate and provide solutions to help stop violence against African American women. The loss of these great women must be stopped and this is a major step towards protecting them.
- Senate Bill 41 – Establishes the Christian Taylor Ferguson (CTF) Medical Alert System to help find children who are missing and in danger because of a medical condition. We cannot overlook our most vulnerable and this bill will help in emergencies.
- Senate Bill 42 – Requires schools to conduct annual safety assessments to help identify vulnerabilities to a potential shooter situation and create solutions to help keep children safe.
- Senate Bill 130 – Allows for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds to be used at partnered restaurants under a Restaurant Meals Program to provide hot meals for the elderly, disabled and homeless.
- Senate Bill 131 – Changes funding so any student qualifying for reduced price lunch by the National School Lunch Program will instead be given free lunch under the Missouri School Meals Act.
Please contact my offices if you are interested in being a witness for one of these bills or have any questions. My offices are committed to contacting you within 24 hours of hearing from you. Let’s continue breaking barriers and spreading joy into the New Year!
