Senator Patty Lewis Takes Oath of Office to Serve the 7th Senatorial District
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Patty Lewis, D-Kansas City, took the oath of office and was sworn in as a member of the 103nd General Assembly on Wednesday, Jan. 8. She represents the 7th Senatorial District in the Missouri Senate, which includes part of Jackson County.
“I am very grateful to the citizens of my district who put their trust in me to represent them and the issues that matter to them. Yesterday was a very humbling moment in my life,” said Sen. Lewis. “I am excited to get to work, to fight for my constituents and help move Missouri forward.”
Senator Lewis’ legislative priorities in her first year include protecting Missourians’ choice regarding women’s reproductive rights in the 2024 election, making Missouri a safer place to live through commonsense gun control and making sure every person has access to quality health care and a world-class education.
She previously advocated for these key issues and many more while in the Missouri House of Representatives, serving the citizens of the 25th House District from 2020-2024.
