Senator Angela Mosley’s Senate Bill 42 to be Heard in Committee
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Angela Walton Mosley, D-Florissant, will present Senate Bill 42 to the Education Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 8 a.m. in the Senate Lounge of the State Capitol.
Senate Bill 42 would require schools to conduct annual safety assessments to discover any vulnerabilities they have to a potential shooter crisis. The Department of Education and Secondary Education would then use those findings to work with the school and develop solutions to protect children.
“It is time for us to focus on children’s safety,” Sen. Mosley said. “This bill will help identify the weaknesses in school safety and provide the resources needed to protect children in emergencies.”
