Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer Celebrates Successful Bowling Tournament Benefiting the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer, R-Parkville, announced Tuesday the success of the annual Missouri Senate Charity Bowling Tournament, which took place earlier this year and raised more than $44,000 for the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. The event brought together senators, staff and community supporters for an evening of friendly competition and charitable giving. "I'm incredibly proud of the generosity shown by everyone who participated in this year's tournament," said Sen. Luetkemeyer. "The Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter does amazing work providing care, shelter and hope to animals in need, and we are thrilled to support their mission." The Senate Charity Bowling Tournament is an annual tradition in which a member of the Senate leadership team selects a nonprofit organization to receive the proceeds. This year, Sen. Luetkemeyer, who serves as Senate majority floor leader, chose the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, a cause close to his heart and one that serves countless animals in Platte County and beyond. “The amount raised by your tournament will have a very significant impact on our ability to move forward with our work,” said Julia Trumpold and David Woolwine from the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. “Please know that you have made a difference in the lives of our volunteers, but more importantly, in the lives of the many homeless animals who otherwise would be neglected.” The Missouri Senate Charity Bowling Tournament has become a highly anticipated event each year, providing an opportunity for camaraderie while giving back to communities across the state.
