Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of March 3, 2025

    March 6, 2025

We are close to reaching the halfway mark of the 2025 regular legislative session and the Missouri Senate spent time moving forward bills this week that I believe will be beneficial.

Senate Bill 43 modifies provisions relating to child protection. A comprehensive proposal, this bill covers topics ranging from child abuse investigations to raising the age of marriage in Missouri to child custody and visitation orders.

Senate Bill 82 relates to how our state exports water. This bill would require companies that are exporting water outside Missouri to get a permit from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. This would then allow DNR to manage water for Missouri first in a drought and not allow water to be exported out of the state if a drought occurs.

We are only a couple of months away from the conclusion of this year’s legislative session. I will keep you updated of our progress as we move forward.

I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at 573-751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
