Statement from Sen. Karla May Regarding the SLMPD Officer Struck on I-70

­

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Karla May, D-St. Louis, today issued the following statement regarding the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer who was struck by a vehicle on I-70 Monday morning:

 

“As you may know, a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer was struck by a vehicle this morning on I-70. The department said a red sedan is wanted in connection to a carjacking that led to a pursuit, which then resulted in the officer being struck. The officer was listed in critical but stable condition as he was taken in for surgery earlier today.

 

“I am hopeful we can find those responsible for this incident. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the St. Louis Regional Crimestoppers at 866-371-8477. Please join me in keeping this officer and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from his injuries.”
