Mid-Session Report
Hello, from your favorite Senator Angela Mosley! I wanted to update you as we reach the midpoint of session.
Since my last newsletter, the Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety Committee voted do pass on my Senate Bill 41, which establishes the Christian Taylor Ferguson (CTF) Medical Alert System. The CTF system would alert the community of missing children who have serious health conditions and may need immediate care or medication.
In addition, my Senate Bill 262, which would change the way custody cases and child support are handled in the state, held its hearing before the Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence Committee. By notifying relatives of children leaving their parents’ custody, I hope families can come together to provide for these children in need and keep them in the family if possible. I believe providing a path for better support for the children of our community is of the utmost importance
Finally, Senate Joint Resolution 14 passed out of the Economic and Workforce Development Committee. If approved by voters, this bill would expand the tax exemption for disabled former prisoners of war to all disabled veterans. I believe this will support the veterans who sacrificed so much during their service.
I also wanted to share with you the 2025 Confluence Trash Bash on April 12. Please sign up to help clean up one of the three sites planned for this year. You can register through the following links:
