Statement from Sen. Justin Brown Regarding the $19.8 million Award for S&T’s Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Justin Brown, R-Rolla, today issued a statement relating to the announcement of the renewal of a $19.8 million award from the National Science Foundation for Missouri S&T’s Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry (CSOE):
“I am excited for the future of S&T, and extremely proud of Director Minteer and the team at CSOE. The research that is being conducted in our backyard puts us at the forefront of discoveries that will help change the world for the better.
The school has always led the charge to enhance current practices and develop new approaches across a vast array of industries. This continued funding will allow the CSOE to lead the charge into the future of electrochemistry and give future generations of chemists the opportunity to see, identify and connect pieces of a fundamental puzzle.
I’m also thrilled to see how the CSOE creates educational opportunities right here in Rolla as the center partners with local schools and organizations to grow STEM awareness and participation.
The CSOE has already made Rolla proud, but I know they are just getting started and more great things are yet to come.”
